There is also some study & reading between sessions that will be sent out via “Moodle”.

WHAT IS HIDDEN VOICES?

Hidden voices is a new resource created by Mosaic Creative for The Clewer Initiative. It’s based on the principles of an existing resource called Stories on the Street, and it’s designed to help churches and communities respond to modern slavery.

Some people might ask, what can churches and communities do about modern slavery? The truth is local people are key to solving this puzzle. For starters they can spot the signs of modern slavery and help the police to find victims. They can prevent vulnerable people they work with, like the homeless, from being trafficked or exploited. And they can support the survivors of modern slavery, and help them to overcome the trauma they have experienced.

Hidden Voices is written in modules, include Biblical reflections and practical tools and activities to help churches work alongside their community.

There are also case studies that help people to see how they might already be coming across modern slavery without knowing it.

WHAT WILL DOING THE HIDDEN VOICES COURSE DO FOR ME?

We hope that churches who do the Hidden Voices resource will feel inspired and ready to start a project of their own by the end. This is why we encourage, if possible to people to attend in small groups from your local area: you’re more likely to be able to take action if there are a few of you spurring each other on.

They might not have all the answers, but they will certainly know where to start.

Several Dioceses have already run Hidden Voices trainings and you can see them share their stories here

WHAT IS THE COST OF “HIDDEN VOICES” TRAINING?

Due to the generous partnership with The Clewer Initiative, we can offer 25 places on the Hidden Voices places FREE to parishes in the Diocese of London.

There would be no cost to you for coming on the course; however there is an expectation you can make all the sessions.

HOW DO I FIND OUT MORE?

If you’d like more information you can get in touch with the Compassionate Communities team directly here.

We hope to see you there!
