Open to all across the Diocese but particularly focussed on churches in the Willesden Area: Harrow, Brent, Hillingdon and Ealing.
This evening event will provide a short overview of modern slavery, where it is operating in our city and how we can spot the signs in our churches, community projects and outreaches.
We will hear from each Deanery from churches that have experience of working with those who may be trafficked or enslaved, and hear simple steps of what we can do if we suspect someone may be vulnerable, has been trafficked or is enslaved.
We will also take time to reflect theologically on the experience of those being trafficked and our responses as people of God, seeking to reflect his heart for justice for the oppressed.
We will have time for questions and discussion at the end of the session, and signposting to more resources, training and support if this is an area of work that you would like more space to explore.
Speakers: Alison Tsang, Compassionate Communities, with Amy Bishop from The Clewer Initiative
