Compassionate Communities is committed to supporting Diocese of London churches as they respond to the needs in their communities.
We’re particularly resourcing and equipping parishes in six key themes of social action and concern. These are themes that the Diocese want to prioritise in the next ten years as part of Capital Vision 2030, recognising that they represent the most pressing concerns facing our city and our world.
We know there is much wonderful work already going on in parishes across the Diocese to reach out compassionately to their communities; so we are also committed to celebrating ad amplify that work, and sharing good ideas & good practice across our episcopal Areas.
Themes of work
These themes are:
- Caring for God’s Creation
- Mental Health & Isolation
- Refugees, Modern Slavery & Asylum Seekers
- Debt & Financial Wellbeing
- Housing & Homelessness
- Serious Youth Violence
More details about the work across the Diocese, and further resources can be found on each of our Theme Area resource pages.
We know many churches serve their communities in other ways too; we’d love to support and celebrate that too; please do get in touch as we’d love to hear from you!
